Our friends over at Biscayne Bay Brewing Company are expanding!
They will now be brewing closer to Biscayne Bay in downtown Miami, as their current and main location is in southern Doral on Northwest 25th street near the Palmetto. Their new brewery and taproom will be located in the Old United States Post Office and Courthouse building located on 100 Northeast First Avenue.
They will be located on the third floor of the building. In 1914 the third floor tenants included The Miami Weather Bureau Office which operated as the first National Weather Service. You could say that things have come full circle. First the third floor tenants study what was brewing in Miami and now they are making the brew there! Queue the rimshot!
According to Jose Mallea, Owner of Biscayne Bay Brewing Company, “We are excited to be in the forefront of the new wave of Downtown Miami’s Cultural District, bringing the first brewery to Downtown Miami for locals and tourists.”
Personally, I believe that the location will be a hit as their aren’t many places that serve craft beer like this taproom can in Downtown Miami. Biscayne Bay Brewing will even have a custom fabricated micro brewing system that will put out small batches of artisanal and experimental beers.
Our show had the pleasure of recording Episode 59 at their current location and we are looking forward to visiting Biscayne Bay Brewing’s new location when they open this winter.
